This conference workshop presentation discusses how the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department (KCPD)'s public relations team prepared the city for Super Bowl 2020, the victory parade, reassured the public during the crisis, and followed up afterward. Police are charged with planning for major events and ensuring they're carried out safely. KCPD hosted the biggest event the city had seen in years with the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory parade on Feb. 5, 2020. This required extensive communication with the public before the event.
