Introduction to Juvenile Interrogation Techniques

A training that introduces components and structure of juvenile interrogations. 

Target Audience: Law enforcement personnel who interview/interrogate youth, can read Miranda rights, and make arrests only

Overall Objective: To identify potential investigative traps, Identify interrogation approaches and strategies, Understand the importance of the "totality of circumstances," Develop age-appropriate Miranda statements, Describe the cautions and considerations for using the strategies when interrogating youth, and Analyze a juvenile's behavior in an interrogation and determine the most appropriate approach.

Includes: A training that explores interrogation techniques as they apply to youth, including considerations for shifting from interview to interrogation and specific cautions to avoid false or coerced confessions.
