Legal Program Manager, Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy

Lyla is the Legal Program Manager for the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy. She is solely responsible for conducting all legal training for basic law enforcement recruits from 17 different agencies. In addition, she teaches various in-service classes and is a frequent presenter at nationwide conferences. She is a former Senior Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Virginia Beach. Lyla is a legal subject matter expert for the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). She is a certified mediator through the Virginia Supreme Court and has professional certifications in conflict resolution and workplace disputes. She is a member of the IACP LOS section.
