Are you Procedurally Just? Using Public Opinion Survey Data to Strengthen Organizational Strategy and Culture

This conference workshop presentation discusses how the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) used the Final Report of the President's Task Force on 21st Century Policing to guide its daily strategic and tactical decisions, and the 'Building Trust and Legitimacy' pillar to inform a public opinion survey that was distributed by CSP to the community in 2015. CSP also present the results of this survey which asked participants questions related to service, safety, community policing, and trust of the police force. They also discuss the loss of two troopers in the line of duty in their agency and how the strong Community-Police Engagementhips in their community were evidenced in the community support during these incidents.
