Shawn Butler

While pursuing his degree in Public Justice, Chief Butler began an internship through his program at SUNY Oswego with the Auburn Police Department and was subsequently hired as a recruit officer on July 15, 1996 prior to finishing his degree. In 2014 Chief Butler returned to SUNY Oswego and ultimately graduated in 2016 with B.A. in Public Justice. Chief Butler rose through the ranks of the department and was formally appointed as Police Chief on June 15, 2016. Chief Butler is currently pursuing his Masters of Science in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership from the University of San Diego.

Chief Eve Thomas began her police career in January, 1993 with the Knoxville Police Department following a career in the retail industry. She attended several training opportunities to include the inaugural session of the Southeastern Command and Leadership Academy (SECLA), the FBINA (235th Session), the PERF Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP, 52nd Session), the IACP Women’s Leadership Course, an Executive Leadership course put on by LEEDA, among others. Chief Thomas has a Master's Degree from Long Island University's Homeland Security Master's Institute and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
